Where can I try GPT Image 2.6 for free?

In ChatGPT, on every plan. That has been true worldwide since 4 November 2026.

The free try is ChatGPT. OpenAI put the model on every ChatGPT plan, on desktop, mobile, and the web. Codex has it too. Image26 does not claim a free or unlimited tier of its own.

What you pay for on this page

The plans here are monthly credits, and you can stop whenever you want. A Flare image uses 1 credit. A Sunburst image uses 4. Fine detail on Sunburst uses 8. A GIF uses 10. An SVG uses the same number as an image of that model and detail. Those numbers are the estimate shown on this page, not a quote from OpenAI’s token bill.

• Basic is $9.9 a month for 200 credits.
• Pro is $19.9 a month for 500 credits.
• Max is $49.9 a month for 1,500 credits.

Yearly billing is 40% off the monthly rate, shown as a lower monthly number plus the amount for the year: $5.94 ($71.28 a year), $11.94 ($143.28), and $29.94 ($359.28). The buttons on those cards jump back to the generator. They do not start a checkout.

Complexity, the planning level, has no separate price. Quality is what changes the detail, and on Sunburst the fine setting is the 8-credit line.
